After recently being renamed as Seemandhra after the state got split into two- Telengana and Seemandhra, the state retained the most popular tourist destinations like the Belum caves, Nagarjuna Konda, Borra caves, and Pulicat Lake. Historically the state was home to the Vijayanagara dynasty which was responsible for the Srisailam and Lepakshi temples. There is a lot of Buddhist influence that can be seen around the state in centers like Dhulikatta, Bavikonda, Thotlakonda, Amravati, and Nagarjuna Konda.
